Results:In total, 1,784 participants (mean age, 63.6 years; men with ED: n = 1,234; ED + T: n = 1,279) were randomized to treatment or control groups. The sildenafil group had a mean reduction in ED+T of 4.7%, compared to no treatment (n = 1,678) (p = 0.01). The tadalafil group had a mean reduction in ED+T of 5.7% compared to no treatment (n = 1,678) (p = 0.03). The proportion of participants with a response was similar between treatment and control groups (45% vs. 47%; p = 0.41). The treatment group had significantly higher percentage of patients experiencing a successful erection than the control group (30% vs. 12%; p = 0.04).
